Your personal information
Cookies
FightAnnex only sets the cookies it needs to work. None for advertising, none for audience measurement, none for profiling: that's why no banner asks for your consent.
All necessary
Chosen language, account session, administration.
No trackers
No ads, no audience measurement, no social network.
No banner
No profiling cookies: nothing to accept, nothing to refuse.
The full list
Every cookie, what it does and how long it stays. All are set by FightAnnex itself, none by another site.
For every visitor
fa_lang- Remembers the chosen language, French or English. Set only if you switch language with FR / EN.
- Lasts: 1 year
For signed-in fans
Two cookies, set when you sign in to your account and cleared together. Nothing before.
__Host-fa_fan- Keeps your session open once you're signed in to your account: voting, making predictions, following your fighters. “Sign out” clears it.
- Lasts: 30 days
fa_fan_vu- Tells pages you're signed in on this device, so they only ask the server for your account in that case. It holds nothing about you (its value is “1”) and goes away with the session.
- Lasts: 30 days
For the site's team only
Set by the administration and its sign-in pages: anyone who never opens them gets none.
__Host-fa_session- Keeps the team member signed in.
- Lasts: 12 h to 30 days
__Host-fa_sudo- Confirms a sensitive action, for as long as it takes.
- Lasts: 15 min
__Host-fa_etape- Remembers a sign-in step in progress (passkey).
- Lasts: 5 min
__Host-fa_appareil- Recognises a device the team has already used.
- Lasts: 1 year
__Host-fa_apercu- Shows the administration as another role sees it.
- Lasts: 1 h
fa_fuseau- Remembers the device's time zone, set from the sign-in page on, to show the team times in their own.
- Lasts: 1 year
Not a cookie, but worth knowing
Kept in your browser: unlike a cookie, none of it goes out with your visits.
fightannex:combats-suivants- Tab memory: remembers that you loaded more of the fight list, to bring you back to the same place when you return.
- Lasts: while the tab is open
fa-defi-code- Tab memory, for a challenge received by link: its code, kept while you create your account and come back to the challenge. Cleared when the tab closes; it is only sent with the challenge you accept.
- Lasts: while the tab is open
fa-fans-etat- Browser memory: what the header knows about your account (signed in or not, username, avatar, language, account status, never your address), so it doesn't ask the site again on every page. Read again after one minute at most if you're signed in, 30 minutes otherwise; none of it goes out with your visits.
- Lasts: until you clear your browser
fa-fans-parcoursfa-fans-intentionfa-fans-message- Tab memory, for signing in to your account: the email address you typed and when the code expires, the page you came from, what you were about to do (vote, follow a fighter), a message to show once (“You're signed out on this device”). Kept while the tab is open, even once you're signed in; the address is sent only with the code request or check.
- Lasts: while the tab is open
fa-fans-passkey-non- Browser memory: remembers your “Don't ask again on this device” choice for the passkey.
- Lasts: until you clear your browser
fa-fans-suppression- Browser memory, only if you asked to delete your account on this device: the signed token that cancels it, the erasure date and your masked address, for the “Cancel deletion” banner. Ignored after the erasure date; the token is sent only with that action.
- Lasts: until you cancel or clear your browser
fa-porte-identifiantfa-invitation- Tab memory, for the team only: the username typed at sign-in, the invitation link in progress, sent only with the form you submit.
- Lasts: while the tab is open
fa-saisies- Tab memory, for the team only: what was typed in a form when the session dropped, given back to the same person once signed in again, never a password. Ignored after 24 hours, cleared when the tab is closed or on sign-out; it is sent only with the form you submit.
- Lasts: while the tab is open, ignored after 24 h
fa-volet-sections- Tab memory, for the team only: which sections of a fight's panel were opened or closed by hand, found as they were when the page reloads. Nothing you type; it is never sent to the server.
- Lasts: while the tab is open
Why there's no banner
In Canada, federal law (PIPEDA) requires your consent for anything not needed for the service you ask for; in Quebec, Law 25 also requires any feature that can profile you to be off by default. FightAnnex's cookies are all necessary: remembering your language, keeping your session. None profiles you, none is used for advertising: there is nothing to switch off, so there is no banner.
In the United States, none of these cookies is used to sell or share your information within the meaning of California law. If the site ever added a cookie that isn't necessary, it would be off by default, a banner would ask for your consent, and this page would change first.
Clearing them
In your browser's settings, under cookies or site data. The site will forget your language, your session and what is kept in your browser: TV mode, your passkey choice, and on this device the “Cancel deletion” banner (the link in the email still works).
What FightAnnex keeps about you, and your rights: the Privacy Policy.
