Who is responsible
FightAnnex is run by FightAnnex Technologies Inc. (Québec, Canada), which is accountable for the personal information collected on the site. Privacy officer, in charge of protecting it: President, FightAnnex Technologies Inc., reachable at info@fightannex.com or through Contact us.
This policy follows Canada's federal law (PIPEDA), Quebec's private-sector privacy law (Law 25) and, for people who live in the United States, California's laws (CCPA, CalOPPA) and the federal children's law (COPPA).
What we keep, and why
Nothing is asked to read the site. This information only exists if you write to us or create an account, and each item is only used for what is written here.
- IP address and browser
- Every visit goes through Oracle's servers, which see your IP address and browser to serve the page and protect it from abuse. The site also counts, in memory, the forms sent from each IP address, against bulk sending.
- Kept: in memory only, never stored
- “Contact us” messages and error reports
- What you write, your name if you give it, the email address to reply to (optional for an error report) and the page in question: to reply to you and correct the site.
- Kept: 12 months after the last exchange
- Email address
- Signing you in with a code sent by email; sending you service emails and the ones you chose. Needed for the account.
- Kept: as long as your account exists
- Nickname and avatar
- Recognising you on the site. One of the 8 avatars or your initial: no image uploaded. Needed for the account.
- Kept: as long as your account exists
- Favourite language
- French or English: it sets the language of every email and of the site when you sign in. You change it in Settings.
- Kept: as long as your account exists
- “14 or older”
- The box ticked when signing up. No date of birth is asked.
- Kept: as long as your account exists
- Consents
- Your four email choices (Weekly news, Alerts for my fighters and fights, My prediction results, Partner offers), unticked at first, each dated, with the version of the text you read: the proof of your express consent; under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), it is up to FightAnnex to be able to show it.
- Kept: as long as your account exists, then 3 years
- “Appear in the leaderboard”
- Your choice to appear, or not, in the public leaderboards of predictors. Off by default.
- Kept: as long as your account exists
- Followed fighters and fights
- Sending you their alerts, if you chose “Alerts for my fighters and fights”.
- Kept: until “Unfollow”
- Votes, predictions, round scores, points
- Working out fan percentages, your points and your rank. Published percentages never say who voted for what. Needed for the service.
- Kept: as long as your account exists, then without a name
- Sign-in codes
- A 6-digit code, valid for 10 minutes and 5 tries: checking that the address really is yours.
- Kept: 24 h
- Passkeys and signed-in devices
- Signing you back in without a code (passkey), and showing you where your account is open so you can close it remotely.
- Kept: passkeys until you remove them; session 30 days at most
- Messages to support
- What you write from your account: replying to you and correcting the site.
- Kept: as long as your account exists, then 12 months without a name
- Log of emails sent
- Knowing what was sent, to which address, and handling a bounce or a complaint. No opens, no clicks: we don't measure them.
- Kept: 13 months

Never published, never sold, never passed on to a partner, even if you accept their offers. The site's team
Only the people who need to see your account and your messages do, to help you and correct an error. Every change carries a reason, which you find in your history. Never your consents or your passkeys: only you.
The providers below process your information for FightAnnex only. Nothing is disclosed to anyone else, unless the law requires it (a court order, for example).

No information about you
Your information may therefore be stored and processed outside Quebec and outside Canada, in the United States. FightAnnex only entrusts it to providers that commit to protecting it; there it remains subject to the laws of those countries, whose authorities may access it under those laws.
Your rights, and how to use them
Most of them you can use on your own, from your account, without waiting for anyone. For the rest, a reply within 30 days, free of charge.
See and take away
“Download my data”: a ZIP file (JSON and CSV) with everything we keep about you, downloaded straight away after a code or a passkey less than 10 minutes old.Access · portability · in your account
Correct
Your nickname, your avatar, your language, whenever you like. Your address too: an email goes to the old one and the new one.Correction · in your account
Erase everything
“Delete my account”: deactivated at once (signed out everywhere, invisible), erased for good after 7 days. During those 7 days, the link in the “account deleted” email cancels it. Your votes and predictions stay, without a name: published percentages don't move.Deletion · in your account
Withdraw your consent
The four email boxes are unticked at first; every email you chose has one-click unsubscribe, honoured at once, and within 10 business days at the latest. Service emails (code, reply from support…) can't be unsubscribed from: their footer says why.Withdrawal · in every email

Make a complaint
If something is wrong, write to us first. You can also turn to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (opens in a new tab), to Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information (opens in a new tab) if you live in Quebec, or to the Federal Trade Commission (opens in a new tab) in the United States.Complaint
If you live in the United States
In California (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA), to the extent that law applies to FightAnnex: know what information is collected and why (this page says so), get a copy of it, have it corrected or deleted, without being treated any worse for asking. Someone you authorise can ask for you; the reply goes to the account's address, to check the request really comes from you.
What has been collected over the last 12 months: identifiers (email address, nickname, IP address) and what you send us (messages, votes, predictions), from you and your browser. FightAnnex sells no personal information, does not share it for targeted advertising and uses no sensitive information: so there is nothing to opt out of.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control (CalOPPA): the site behaves the same with or without these signals, since it follows nobody from one site to another; no third party collects information here about your online activities over time or across other sites.
14 or older
You must be 14 or older to create an account, vote and make predictions: it's a box to tick, with no date of birth. Reading the site stays open to everyone.
In Quebec, under 14, the law requires a parent's consent: FightAnnex therefore opens no account before that age. In the United States, FightAnnex does not knowingly collect any information from a child under 13 (COPPA). A parent who thinks their child has an account writes to us: the account is deleted.
No tracking
No ads, no trackers, no audience measurement, no profiling. Our emails carry no pixel: we don't know whether you open them or what you click; their links go straight to the page, with no detour to count. Fonts and photos are served by the site itself: no other site sees your visit.
The site's only cookies make it work: the chosen language and, once you're signed in, your session. The full list is on the Cookies page.
Security and changes
No password to steal: a 6-digit code sent by email, valid for 10 minutes and 5 tries, then a passkey if you like. An email warns you when a new device signs in. Everything goes over an encrypted connection. If an incident involving your information risked causing you serious harm, you would be told, and so would the authorities.
When this page changes, the date at the top changes too; a change that affects what you accepted is told to you by email or at your next sign-in, before it applies. The account rules are in the Terms of Use.
